Immanuel Lutheran Communities is proud to announce that the City of Kalispell has bestowed an Architectural Design Award on the Cottages at Buffalo Hill residential project, along with its architect MMW Architects and contractor Davidson Construction.

One feature setting the Cottage design apart is that the homes “very inviting and livable outdoor spaces, with shade and shelter from the weather,” said Julia Pierrottet, committee chair.

Each of the independent-living patio homes includes a covered front porch and fenced front yard, with a view of the golf course. The cottages offer modern design features and easy access, with no stairs to climb to enter either the front door or attached garage.

Pierrottet praised how the homes’ “good-sized windows” and how each displays a unique look and layout, while the full project maintains a cohesive look by using similar materials and paint colors. The Cottages also fit their surroundings, she said. “They’re an excellent fit for the adjacent residential neighborhood.”

The Cottages were one of two local projects the Kalispell Architectural Review Committee chose for special recognition. The committee began the award program in 2010 to “acknowledge quality development in the community … encouraging originality and innovation to protect and enhance the city’s character and appeal.”
